Mary Ann Pahlen
Mary Ann Pahlen, age 89, Crookston, MN, and former longtime Euclid, MN resident, died Wednesday morning, June 5, 2013 at Riverview Health in Crookston with her loving family at her side.
She is survived by her children: Bill (Lois) Pahlen of Euclid, Joyce (Walt) Christensen of Crookston, Kathy (Skip) Cormican of Battle Ground, WA, Lois (Jim) Chandler of Crookston, Carol (Neil) Parkin of Euclid, Dan (Judy) Pahlen of Warren, Margaret (Chuck) Huston of Crookston, Jerry (Julie) Pahlen of Roseau, Mary Kay (Chris) Plante of Crookston, and Mark (Maria) Pahlen of Roseau; a daughter-in-law: Les Pahlen of Grand Forks; 26 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and 15 great great-grandchildren; two brothers: Bernard of Crookston and Bob of St. Michael; a sister: Clarice Ellingson of St. Michael; a number of in-laws, nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Irene Fitzsimmons and Dorothy Westphal; brothers: David, Leo, Walter, Jerome, Joe, Francis, and Bill; her husband: Jacob Pahlen; a son: Ken in 2008; grandchildren: Lisa Weiland and Jamie Mercier; great-grandchildren: Marik Peterson and Hannah Chandler.

Orella M. Hurst
Orella M. Hurst, 89, died on Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at the Hatton Prairie Village, Hatton, North Dakota. Orella was born to Vigo and Randina (Wastvedt) Onstad, on February 25, 1924, at Hatton. On March 11, 1944, Orella was united in marriage with Glenn E. Hurst, at Davenport, Iowa, and the couple then moved to Grand Forks, where they lived until moving to the Hatton Prairie Village in 2007. The couple had three children: Suzanne Fay, Timothy Jay, and Danny Ray. Orella was a very kind, soft-hearted lady, and completely in love with her husband before and during their 66 years of marriage. Glenn and Orella were rarely seen one without the other, whether it was shopping, dining out, walking, visiting, or in their ministry together as Jehovah’s Witnesses. As a couple, Glenn and Orella were truly like, “two peas in a pod.” Orella was a faithful witness of her God, Jehovah, and was baptized in symbol of her dedication on January 8, 1956. Orella is survived by her daughter Suzanne (Vern) Voelker, of Grand Forks; son Timothy (Judy) Hurst, of Roseau, Minnesota; and daughter-in-law Linda Hurst (Jeffrey) Torgerson, of Grand Forks. Grandchildren are Kristie Bryant, Jayson Hurst, Kari (Jack) Wagner, Jeremy (Jennifer) Hurst, and Dereck (Sarah) Hurst. Great-Grandchildren are Justin (Hilary) Moser, Taylor (Marissa) Moser, Austin Hurst, Kaleb Lynch, Daniel Hurst, Mason Wagner, and Tyler Hurst. Orella has three surviving sisters, Vern, Francie, Joanne; one brother, Elroy; and nieces and nephews.
Orella was preceded in death by her husband; her son, Danny Hurst; two sisters and one brother.
