Alice M. Arnold
Alice M. Arnold, 77, of Emerado, ND passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2013 in Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.

Alice Mae Smith was born the daughter of Cecil and Ollie (Jackson) Smith on January 27, 1936 in a log cabin with no running water or indoor plumbing located in Howell County, MO. She graduated from Willow Springs High School. She met Kenneth Arnold who was a young airman in the Air Force and they married August 15, 1954. The Air Force stationed them in Arkansas, Texas, Florida and North Dakota (Emerado) where they retired. Alice liked to do many things, including, quilting, embroidery and baking (she taught her four sons to cook and bake). The neighborhood kids would knock on the door to see if Alice could come out to play and she was the assigned permanent pitcher. To be fair, she would pitch for both sides. Alice was always fair in play and in life, EVERYONE got a chance. She would go out of her way to do special things for others. When she would write a letter to her grandkids, she would cut out letters and pictures out of magazines and paste them into the letter so that it became a letter with a picture story.
