50th ANNIVERSARY: Gene and Judy Vatnsdal

Gene and Judy Vatnsdal were married January 4, 1958 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Grand Forks. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with their children and ten granchildren - Lori (Orman) Anafarta, Linda (Mark) Keehr, Les (Cory) Vatnsdal and Jamie (Julie) Vatnsdal. The Vatnsdal children are planning to hold an open house for Gene and Judy during the summer of 2008.

Arnold Walter Juenke
Arnold Walter Juenke, age 79 of Crystal, ND, passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2013 at the Altru Hospital of Grand Forks.

Arnold was born December 25, 1933 in Grafton, ND to Walter and Meta (Schmidt) Juenke. He grew up and attended schools in the Crystal area where he graduated from high school. He then attended NDSU for a short time before returning home to farm with his father and uncle. He served in the U.S. Army from 1957 until 1959. Following his discharge, he returned home and was united in marriage to Betty Vatnsdal on October 26, 1963 in Grafton. The couple lived and farmed west of Crystal for many years before retiring.
