N.D. bill would address human trafficking
North Dakota lawmakers will soon be debating a bill that aims to be a red light for human trafficking. “Is it a big problem here? I don’t believe it actually is. But you don’t ever want it to be,” said Kathy Hawken, a Republican and a state representative from Fargo who is one of the sponsors of the bill. When people hear the term human trafficking, many picture sexual slavery, but Hawken said it can encompass many industries, including domestic labor.
