Tim Lamb, Grand Forks, column: UND must abide by NCAA rules
The notion that the NCAA — an out-of-state authority — is not playing fair is misguided. The NCAA is not a government entity. It’s more like a private club. It makes its own rules. And if you want to belong, you must follow its rules.

Tim Lamb, Grand Forks, column: Sugar co-op’s tactics leave sour taste
If the board of directors truly was interested in saving money and cutting costs, the board members would start with the top salaries of the management team. I mean, really: The CEO gets $2 million a year! I’m sure the board could find a very capable and competent boss for much less, perhaps $300,000 a year.

Tim Lamb, Grand Forks School Board member, letter: Come to forum to discuss district’s future
Bear in mind that these projects will not add anything to Grand Forks residents’ property taxes. Because of the economic stimulus package from the Obama administration, a perfect opportunity to build these needed projects has been put on the table. In fact, we are looking at a zero percent interest bond.

Tim Lamb, Grand Forks, column -- The Sioux name and the law: An option for UND
As the beneficiary of the settlement, UND in my opinion has a right to petition the North Dakota Supreme Court under Rule 47, North Dakota Rules of Appellate Procedure, to answer a 'question of law.'

Tim Lamb, Grand Forks, letter: Pomeroy fights in D.C. for N.D
Rep. Earl Pomeroy, D-N.D., has proven his leadership ability. He is a fighter for North Dakota. He has provided our state with the most return on investment it could have. He has a record of returning federal dollars to the state for much-needed projects because of his seniority and political clout in Washington.

Tim Lamb, Grand Forks, letter: Pomeroy’s seniority means billions for N.D.
I’m afraid if GOP challenger Rick Berg gets elected, it could cost the state billions in federal money. That’s right: billions with a “b.”

Tim Lamb, Grand Forks, letter: For Crystal workers, it’s full speed ahead
I and many others are hoping for a miracle this Christmas: that our American Crystal Sugar workers and management work out their differences and find a way to sign a new contract.

William Couchigian, Grand Forks, letter: Re-elect Tim Lamb, School Board’s key communicator

A reservoir next to the Red River could answer the need not only to control floods, but also to secure an ample water source and provide a recreational area.

Tim Lamb, Grand Forks School Board member, letter: Amendment could hurt GF schools
The amendment to eliminate the unlimited mill levy method makes no sense. It was not recommended by the commission. It only applies to three school districts, where — in each case — voters have approved it. It tries to solve a problem where no problem exists. It may even hurt the quality of K-12 education in our district.

VIEWPOINT: GF schools continue to lead the way
GRAND FORKS — This is in response to the Herald’s editorial, “N.D. schools must get back on track” (Page A4, June 27), and its progeny of responses, including the latest, “GF schools may not be so great after all” (Page D3, June 6).
