Lloyd Thorsgard, 78, of Northwood, ND passed away Friday, December 7, 2012 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND. A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 29, 2012 at 10:30am at Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Northwood. Burial will be at the South Cemetery.

Lloyd Philip Thorsgard was born May 12, 1934, to Knut and Anna (Flisrand) Thorsgard. He was the fifth of six children who were born at the farm home in the Northwood, ND area. He attended rural school through grade 8 and graduated from Northwood High School and the University of Minnesota, St. Paul campus. He was baptized and confirmed at Ebenezer Free Lutheran Church.

GF County rancher pleads not guilty to cattle-at-large charges
A Northwood, N.D., rancher pleaded not guilty Monday to three misdemeanor charges of letting his cattle run at large last month. Lloyd Thorsgard, 76, who keeps cattle on land alongside state Highway 15, was previously accused of allowing his animals to get loose six times in 2009. In some cases, authorities said, the cattle walked onto the highway.
