Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty and state health and education officials discussed the state's first "probable" case of H1N1 influenza virus, better known as the swine flu, in a news conference this morning. Two schools serving Cold Spring and Rocori, Minn., have voluntarily closed for the day, officials said. First shipments of swine flu vaccine are targeted for health workers
Minnesota and North Dakota’s first shipments of H1N1 influenza vaccine, due next week, will be targeted toward health providers on the front lines in treating flu victims. North Dakota has its first confirmed case of swine flu. The state Health Department said a suspected case in a Burleigh County woman has been confirmed by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as the H1N1 influenza virus, more commonly known as swine flu.
