Setting the pace in the cold
"Just because it’s cold is not a reason to stay in,” Jim Reiten said. The 62-year-old often spends his noon hour running outdoors. Health clubs provide indoor refuge for getting in shape out of the cold, but some people love to get out in the cold, no matter how frigid.

FACES: North Dakota’s cold winter weather doesn’t keep marathon runner Anne-Marie Studer inside
Not even frigid North Dakota winter weather can cool Anne-Marie Studer’s enthusiasm for outdoor running. “Just because it’s cold outside, doesn’t mean you don’t run,” Studer said. “You just pile on more layers.” At the end of her daily runs, it’s more typical to be too warm, than too cold, Studer noted.
