  • Jim Stinson of Lockport, Man., sent this photo, taken Tuesday, March 24, 2009, of the amphibex ice-breaker machines in use to break up the ice on  the Red River near Selkirk, Man. Manitoba uses the machines on the Red each spring in an effort to minimize the risk of ice jams.
