Lucille M. Godtland

Lucille Godtland 80 of Fosston formerly of Gully, MN died on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at the First Care Nursing Home in Fosston.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at 10:00 AM at the Samhold Lutheran Church in Gonvick, MN with Rev. Michael Giese officiating. Visitation will be on Friday from 6-8 PM at Cease Family Funeral Home in Bagley, MN with a prayer service at 7:00 PM. Interment following cremation will be at the Samhold Lutheran Cemetery in Gonvick. The Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley assisted with the arrangements.

Lucille was born April 25, 1932 in Minneapolis, Minnesota the daughter of Marvin and Mary Elizabeth (Pletschett) Homme. She grew up in the Gully/Trail area and lived on a farm southeast of Gully for about 50 years before moving to Fosston 4 years ago. She attended elementary school in Trail and graduated from Gonvick High School in 1950. Lucille married Arne Godtland on November 10, 1951 at Plummer, MN. Arne preceded her in death on November 27, 2001.

Lucille worked as a cook at the Sportsman’s Lodge at Pine Lake for over 20 years. She was a member of the Trail V.F.W. Auxillary and the Gonvick American Legion Auxillary.

She enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, then after raising 5 kids her interests included many country music concerts, traveling to see kids, grandchildren and other relatives, participating in the Red Hat Ladies of Gonvick, and talking politics.

Survivors include- Two Sons- Jeffrey Godtland of Rockford, IL, John (Terri) Godtland of Gonvick, MN, Three Daughters- Linda Helland of Frisco, TX, Barbara (Rick) Fischer of Sauk Centre, MN, Rhonda (Matthew) McGivney of Chicago, IL,

Sister- Delores (Ray) Lund of Virginia, MN. Several nieces and nephews, 9 Grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a sister- Arvilla Godtland.
