Lillian A. Bina, age 91 of Park River, ND passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at the First Care Health Center of Park River, ND.Lillian was born November 28, 1921 on the family farm near Pisek, ND the daughter of the late Joseph and Frances (Vrzal) Potocka. She was the fourth child of five in the family. She attended Pisek Public School. On June 5, 1939 Lillian was married to Rudolph Bina at St. John’s Catholic Church in Pisek.

Lillian A. Bina, age 91 of Park River, ND passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at the First Care Health Center of Park River, ND.
Lillian was born November 28, 1921 on the family farm near Pisek, ND the daughter of the late Joseph and Frances (Vrzal) Potocka. She was the fourth child of five in the family. She attended Pisek Public School. On June 5, 1939 Lillian was married to Rudolph Bina at St. John’s Catholic Church in Pisek.
The couple farmed in Cleveland Township of Walsh County. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church at Bechyne, ND. She was an active member of Christian Mothers at Bechyne. Lillian was a devoted wife and mother. She not only did the housework, but lovingly helped her husband on the farm with whatever he needed. Lillian loved to bake, work in her garden and needlework. Lillian and Rudolph loved to travel and had many fond memories of trips together and with friends.
The couple retired in 1974 and moved to Park River, ND. She worked part-time as a dietary aide at St. Ansgar’s Hospital in Park River for 15 years. Some of the older employees remember her for her pies. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and Altar Society in Park River. In 2011 she moved into the apartments at the Good Samaritan in Park River. She enjoyed visiting with her friends and loved playing bingo.
Lillian had a close relationship with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all. She is survived by her children: Irene (Laddie) Zahradka, Park River, ND; Dennis (Patty) Bina, Fordville, ND; six grandchildren: Dale (Shelly) Kovarik, Dean (Nadine) Kovarik, Janet Armstrong, Jacqueline (Timothy) Zikmund, Cameron (Estelle) Bina, Spencer (Rachel) Bina; 15 great grandchildren and was awaiting the arrival of two more this spring, and her sister, Rose Parke, Rugby, ND. She was preceded by her parents, husband Rudolph in 2006, her sister, Mary Shirek and two brothers, Joseph and Clement Potocka and son-in-law, John Kovarik.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, March 25, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Park River. Visitation will be Sunday from 5-7 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Park River. Friends may also call at the church on Monday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery, Bechyne, ND.
