Marion Samson
Marion C. Samson, 88, of Grand Forks, ND, formerly of Park River, ND, passed away on Tuesday, March 12th, 2013, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks.Marion was born June 24th, 1924, in Minneapolis, MN, to John and Anna (Neste) Boese. She graduated from Grand Forks Central High School in 1941 and attended the University of North Dakota from 1941 to 1943. She completed X-ray technician training at Swedish Hospital in Minneapolis in 1944 and then attended Aaker’s Business College in Grand Forks for one year. She worked at the Campbell-Williamson Clinic in Grand Forks from 1945 to 1948.

Marion was born June 24th, 1924, in Minneapolis, MN, to John and Anna (Neste) Boese. She graduated from Grand Forks Central High School in 1941 and attended the University of North Dakota from 1941 to 1943. She worked at the Campbell-Williamson Clinic in Grand Forks from 1945 to 1948.
Marion married M. Wesley Samson on May 8, 1948, at United Lutheran Church in Grand Forks. They lived briefly in Warren, MN, and Devils Lake, ND, before settling in Park River in 1951 where they founded Samson Electric Ltd. and raised their family. After the children were in school, Marion worked for H.E. Everson for one year followed by nearly 20 years at the Farmers Home Administration. She retired in 1987. Wesley passed away in 1998 and Marion moved to Briarwood Apartments in Grand Forks in 2006 where she enjoyed the company of many new friends.
She is survived by her children, Dede (Bruce) Meidinger, Fargo, ND, Sherry Samson, Grand Forks, Jane Porter, Grand Forks, Paul (Colleen) Samson, Park River, and Mark Samson, Rochester, MN; thirteen grandchildren, Anna (Todd) Novak, Paul (Rebecca) Meidinger, Sam (Amy) Meidinger, Rachel (Scott) Franz, Trina (David) Goduti, Mandy (John) Rook, Ryan Samson, Rose (Ryan) Rea, David (Heather) Samson, Julie Samson, Matthew Samson, Nicholas Samson, and Sean Samson, and 23 great-grandchildren.
Marion was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Wesley.
Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 16th, 2013, at United Lutheran Church, 324 Chestnut St., Grand Forks, ND. Visitation one hour prior to the service in the church.
Interment: Spring 2013 at Calvary Cemetery, Park River, ND.
