Arlene M. Hoaas age 86 of East Grand Forks, MN passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Villa St. Vincent Nursing Home in Crookston, MN.Arlene M. Hoaas was born on April 12, 1926 the daughter of John and Olga (Olson) Ranum in Rosewood, MN. Arlene grew up in Thief River Falls, MN and worked for Montgomery Wards Department in Thief River Falls until she married Lester R. Hoaas on October 3, 1952. They moved around the area as Les was in the construction industry. Arlene was a homemaker until 1960 when she became employed with Norby’s Department Store in Grand Forks, ND. In 1963 she began work for the 1st National Bank as a teller then a bookkeeper until her retirement in April of 1986. Sadly on June 16th, 1975 Les passed away due to ALS. Arlene continued to live in East Grand Forks until moving to the Villa St. Vincent in Crookston, MN.

Arlene loved to sew, ceramics, rosemåling, and oil painting and especially being with her grandkids and great-grandchildren.
Arlene is survived by her daughter, Mary Don (Larry) Krostue of Fisher, MN, 1 grandson, Jim (Maxx) Krostue and grand-son-in-law, Pete Senger; 4 great grandchildren, Dustin and Morgan of Grand Lake, CO, Hunter and Clay Senger of Burnsville, MN, 1 brother, Ferrl (Ann) Ranum of Thief River, Falls, MN along with many in-law, nieces, nephews and friends.
Arlene is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lester; granddaughter, Teresa Senger; brothers, Sherwin, Myron, Lloyd, Ray and Orrin; sister Junice Sannes.
Funeral Service. 2:00 PM, Thursday, March 14, 2013 at Bygland Lutheran Church, Rural East Grand Forks, MN
Visitation: 1 Hour prior Funeral Service in Bygland, Lutheran Church
Interment: Greenwood Cemetery ~ Thief River Ralls, MN Spring, 2013
