Florice L. Ford

Florice L. Ford, age 95 of Fargo, ND and formerly of Park River, ND passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at the Sanford Palliative Care Unit of Fargo.

Florice L. Bakke was born July 7, 1917 in Golden Valley Township, Walsh County, ND, the daughter of the late Thorvald and Sophia (Ellingson) Bakke. She attended rural school in Golden Valley Township and graduated from the Walsh County Agricultural School in Park River. Following her education she worked for the ASC office in Park River for eight years. Florice was united in marriage to David A. Ford on December 4, 1943 in Park River. The couple made their home in Park River and they farmed in the Park River area. David passed away on October 8, 1995 and Florice then moved to Fargo to live with her daughter Pat.

She was a member of the Park River Federated Church and WMF, the Order of Eastern Star, P.E.O. and the Park River Fortnightly club. Florice held offices in all of these organizations.

Florice is survived by her daughter, Pat (Herman) Novak, Fargo, ND; two grandchildren: Todd (Anna) Novak, Apple Valley, MN and Heather (Doug) Peterson, Minnetonka, MN; five great grandchildren: Charlie, Alex and Ella Novak and Azia and Zoe Peterson. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister Lorraine Windingland.

Funeral services will be Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 2:30 P.M. at the Park River Federated Church. Visitation will be Saturday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Park River, ND.
