LaVonne “Toots” Ellefson, 77, of East Grand Forks, MN died Monday, March 4, 2013 at the Altru Hospital, Grand Forks.LaVonne Ellefson was born June 30, 1935 in Grand Forks, ND the daughter of Meddie and Mae (Miller) Fontaine. She attended school at St. Mary’s School and graduated from Grand Forks Central High School. She married Dennis Ellefson at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Grand Forks on June 25, 1955.

LaVonne “Toots” Ellefson, 77, of East Grand Forks, MN died Monday, March 4, 2013 at the Altru Hospital, Grand Forks.
LaVonne Ellefson was born June 30, 1935 in Grand Forks, ND the daughter of Meddie and Mae (Miller) Fontaine. She attended school at St. Mary’s School and graduated from Grand Forks Central High School. She married Dennis Ellefson at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Grand Forks on June 25, 1955.
She is survived by children: Tonna Korsmo of Chandler, AZ, Pam Ellefson of East Grand Forks, Kim (Kevin) Christianson of Kenai, AK and Todd (Catherine) Ellefson of Minneapolis, MN, 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and brother Duane “Butch” (Bette) Fontaine of Bemidji, MN. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, on June 30, 2000, sister Donna Mireault and grandson Duane “DJ” Ellefson.
She was a loving, devoted and generous wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed the lake, her garden and her other home projects. She faced life’s challenges with strength and determination, head-on as well as she faced her illness. With all of her children by her side, she went from this life onto her next life.
Memorial Service: 11:00 A.M., Friday, March 8, 2013 at the Dahl Funeral Home, East Grand Forks, MN.
Visitation: 1 hour before services at the chapel.
Inurnment: Resurrection Cemetery, Spring of 2013.
