Grace Halcrow

Margaret Grace Halcrow, 95, Fergus Falls, died February 24, 2013, in Fergus Falls MN.

She was born September 7, 1917, in Bowesmont, ND, to Robert and Margaret (Teasdale) Halcrow. She grew up in Bowesmont where she graduated from high school. She attended NDSU in Fargo, & graduated from Mayville State Teachers College with a Standard Degree in 1937, & a BA Degree in 1940. Grace advanced her studies at UND, Grand Forks, ND, U of M, Minneapolis, & University of Arizona, Scottsdale, AZ.

Grace taught school in Pittsburg School, Drayton, ND, Newfolden High School, Newfolden, MN, East Grand Forks High School, Barron High School, Barron, WI and Fergus Falls High School (1950-1983), retiring after 43 years of teaching.

Preceding her in death were her parents; five brothers, Paul, as an infant, Raymond, Donald, Charles and Gordon. Grace is survived by a sister-in-law, Jessie Halcrow of Drayton, ND & nieces and nephews.

Memorials are preferred to Fergus Falls Dollars for Scholars, 601 Randolph Ave. Fergus Falls, MN 56537. Memorial Service: 2 p.m. Saturday, April 20, 2013 at the PioneerCare Celebration Center, 1131 Mabelle Avenue, Fergus Falls MN. Burial will be in the Drayton City Cemetery, Drayton, ND.
