Donald Boushee Jr.

Donald A. Boushee Jr., 73, of Grand Forks, ND, passed away Monday, March 04, 2013 at Valley Eldercare in Grand Forks.

Donald A. Boushee Jr. was born September 3, 1939 in Grand Forks, ND the son of Donald and Aldora (Johnson) Boushee Sr. He grew up in Grand Forks and graduated from Agricultural College in Crookston. Donald was married to Dorothy Yanish in 1960 in East Grand Forks, MN and they celebrated 51 years together.

Donald A. Boushee Jr., 73, of Grand Forks, ND, passed away Monday, March 04, 2013 at Valley Eldercare in Grand Forks.

Donald A. Boushee Jr. was born September 3, 1939 in Grand Forks, ND the son of Donald and Aldora (Johnson) Boushee Sr. He grew up in Grand Forks and graduated from Agricultural College in Crookston. Donald was married to Dorothy Yanish in 1960 in East Grand Forks, MN and they celebrated 51 years together.

He joined the armed services from 1961 to 1964 and was stationed in Panama Canal. Upon returning to East Grand Forks, Donald worked at St. Michael’s Hospital as Chief Engineer for six years. He then worked for East Grand Forks Fire Department for 23 years and retired in 1995 as the Assistant Fire Chief. Donald and Dorothy retired in Baudette at Lake of the Woods for 8 years and then returned to East Grand Forks in 2004.

Donald is survived by his wife, Dorothy; daughters: Kristy (Jeff) Wentzell, Grand Forks; Cherie (Steve) Abbey, East Grand Forks; sons: Troy (Mary Ann) Boushee, Crookston, MN; Todd (Denae) Boushee, Grand Forks; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Diane (Bernie) Strebig, East Grand Forks.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Shirley Melbostad

Funeral Service: Thursday 11:00 AM at Bethany Lutheran Church, East Grand Forks

Visitation: One hour prior to services at Bethany Lutheran Church

My sympathy belatedly to the Boushee family. I worked with Don over the years while he was a fireman and I was on the police department. He was a good man. Ray Nelson, EGFPD retired

Walker,MN Cherie, Steve and family, So sorry to hear about Don passing away. I'm sure that he will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him. Dorothy and family, there are times that we wonder why things happen as they do, but there is a greater Power that controls our being here on this earth. We must realize that Don did not belong to us, he was just here on loan, while here he filled his role, loving and making the people that new him happy. My thought and prayers are with you. May you find comfort and peace in HIS grace. Dick Riel
