Violet Jeanette Halvorson was born in Hampden, N. Dak. on March 25, 1926 to Peder and Clara Bjorland. She lived in Hampden until her marriage to Arvin Halvorson in 1943 and since then has lived in Bagley, Mn., Grand Forks and Fargo, N.D.She leaves children Myrna(Ole) Lillestolen, East Hartland, CT; Janet Mager-Hansen, Mesa, AZ; Alan(Toni)Halvorson, Casselton, ND.: 10 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren; brother Orlen Bjorland , Jamestown, N.D, sister-in-law Edna Halvorson, Bagley, MN, several nieces and nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.

Violet’s primary career was wife, mother and homemaker but she also worked for many years in the Deaconess/Altru hospital housekeeping department.
Her beloved husband of 41 years left her in 1984 to join their son Vernon who went to heaven in 1957 at the age of 3. On February 23, she left us and was reunited with them. She was also predeceased by two sons-in-law Clarian Mager and Gordon Hansen, parents, Arvin’s parents, 5 sisters-in -law, 5 brothers -in-law.
She will be greatly missed.
Funeral Service will be held Saturday, March 2, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in Sharon Lutheran Church, Grand Forks.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 1, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:45 p.m. in Amundson Funeral Home.
