Lorraine “Rainie” Eleanor Moen, 88, West Fargo, ND, treasured wife, mother and grandmother, passed into the arms of her Lord and Savior on February 24, 2013, at Bethany on University, Fargo, ND, with her husband by her side.

Lorraine Carpenter was born November 19, 1924, in Moorhead, MN. She worked at Concordia College and later in area elementary schools in food service, where she blessed many with her hospitality gifts and love of people.

On September 10, 1948, Lorraine married Chester Rehder and they lived in Moorhead. They had three sons, whom she loved dearly. Chester died in 1959.

On March 11, 1960, Lorraine married Melford “Andy” Moen. In the late 1970’s Andy and Lorraine moved just outside West Fargo, on a wonderful piece of land where she enjoyed flowers, especially lilacs and bleeding hearts, hanging laundry, picking berries, canning, baking and frequent visits from her children and grandchildren.

Lorraine enjoyed visiting with people, the companionship of her pets, and serving others. She also loved getting her hair done and visiting with those at the beauty shop.

Lorraine was a strong, loving and generous daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She loved and served her family well. Loved by all, she will be remembered for her visits around the kitchen table, her delicious baked goods that blessed us all and her faith in God.

Surviving are her husband Andy Moen, Fargo; 2 sons, Chet (Kim) Rehder, West Fargo, and Ronald (Diane) Rehder, Moorhead; daughter-in-law, Holly Rehder, Watertown, SD; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; brothers, Floyd Carpenter and Roland (Betty) Carpenter; and her sisters, Laurie Oleson and Marlys (Duane) Carpenter. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Chester Rehder Sr.; son, Gary Rehder; and brothers, Donald and Charles Carpenter.

Memorial Service will be Saturday, March 2, 2013, at 10:30 AM in Faith Lutheran Church, West Fargo. Arrangements by Korsmo Funeral Service, Moorhead.
