Lucy Fitzsimonds, 93, of Walhalla, ND passed away Sunday, February 24, 2013, at Pembina County Memorial Hospital, Cavalier, ND. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, February 27, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Boniface Catholic Church, Walhalla, ND. Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 26th from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. rosary service at the church. Burial will be held in the St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Leroy, ND.Lucy Doreen Clifford was born the second of three children, on August 7, 1919, to Joseph and Eva (Carignan) Clifford of Leyden, ND. On May 18, 1940, she married William “Billy” Fitzsimonds and they farmed in the Leroy area. In the early 1980’s they moved to Walhalla. William passed away in January of 1991.

Lucy Doreen Clifford was born the second of three children, on August 7, 1919, to Joseph and Eva (Carignan) Clifford of Leyden, ND. On May 18, 1940, she married William “Billy” Fitzsimonds and they farmed in the Leroy area. In the early 1980’s they moved to Walhalla. William passed away in January of 1991.
She enjoyed her years as a mother and homemaker, making many meals for family and friends. Lucy also made and handed out many dilly and buster bars and malts to folks in her years working at the Dairy Queen. Her hobbies included gardening and needle work, and she loved giving her work to her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her children: Ronald (Rochelle) Fitzsimonds, Payette, ID and Keith Fitzsimonds, Walhalla; grandchildren: Richard (Taralee) Fitzsimonds and children, Ashtyn, Kelsey, Brennan, Conner, and McKinley, Payette, ID, Lee (Taunya) Fitzsimonds and daughter, Lucy Therese, Vancouver, WA, Nicole (Troy) Weber and children, Justin, Jordyn, Josh, East Grand Forks, MN, Michael and friend Allison, Grand Forks, ND, Lee Brian (Jessica) Hoselton, Fargo, ND; son-in-law, Larry (Jackie) Hoselton, Drayton, ND; special friend, Karen Fraser, Walhalla; and several other family members and friends.
Also preceding her in death were her parents; children: Derald, Dean, and Sheila; and siblings: Corrine Hoff and Louis Clifford.
