Eva May Sampson

Eva May Sampson, 77, of Hatton, ND peacefully passed away at home on Wednesday, February 20, 2013.

Eva was born January 15, 1936 in Acushnet, MA to Edward and Nellie (Hughes) Chace of Dartmouth, MA. She graduated from New Bedford Vocational School in 1953 and married the late Granville Sampson on September 5 of that same year. Eva took care of the home raising their four children. In 1989, after Granville's retirement, the couple moved to North Dakota, living with their daughter until buying a home in Sharon, ND. In April 2011, Eva moved in with her daughter in Hatton, where she lived until her death.

Eva enjoyed crocheting, ceramics, sewing, reading, spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchild, bingo at the Sharon Senior Center, playing with her dog Ladybird, and, lately, playing games on her Kindle Fire.

Eva is survived by her sister Winifred Sampson of New Bedford, MA, sister-in-law Dorothy Sampson of New Bedford, MA, four children Theresa Sampson of Lakeville, MA, Debra Corrow of Middleboro, MA, Jeanne (Bill) PanKratz of Hatton, ND, and Alan (Tracy) Sampson of Portland, OR, seven grandchildren Ramey (Brian) Harding, Stacia Corrow, Daphne (Tyler) Sheeley, William PanKratz, Chelsea Sampson, Chris Sampson, Jack Sampson, great grandson Chase Harding and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Edward, David, and Richard Chace, sister Thelma Grey, brother-in-law William Sampson, and son-in-law Robert Corrow.
