Jerimiah "J. J." Moen, 29, Grand Forks, ND passed away on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks in the presence of his family and friends. His death was due to a sports related boxing injury.J. J. was born in Grand Forks, N.D. on July 1, 1983 to Michelle Sweeney Lund, and John Moen. He was raised by Mike and Tamara Sweeney in Manvel, N.D. After graduating from Community High School, J. J. worked on the family farm near Manvel. He later worked at various jobs finally retuning to the work he loved most, farming. For the last 5 years he worked for Dan and Diane Majkarzk on their family farm.

J. J. was born in Grand Forks, N.D. on July 1, 1983 to Michelle Sweeney Lund, and John Moen. He was raised by Mike and Tamara Sweeney in Manvel, N.D. After graduating from Community High School, J. J. worked on the family farm near Manvel. He later worked at various jobs finally retuning to the work he loved most, farming. For the last 5 years he worked for Dan and Diane Majkarzk on their family farm.
J. J.'s passions included: camping, fishing, biking and road trips to dozens of National Parks. Growing up, the family would spend summers at Stony Point Resort on Cass Lake where he and his fiancée Megan were to be married this coming summer on Star Island. On the day he "told" Megan they were to be married he said, "I used to see you in the halls in school and think, if only I could have a girl like that!"
He is survived by his fiancée, Megan Link, Grand Forks, ND and her family; his parents, Mike and Tamara Sweeney, Manvel, ND; his sister, Sara Sweeney, Grand Forks, ND; his beloved dog, Sweets, at home and a large, loving extended family including a remarkable and deeply loyal family of friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Michelle; maternal grandfather, John Sweeney and cousin, Derek Sweeney; paternal grandmother, Loretta Moen; his uncle, David Moen.
Celebration of Life Memorial Service: 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 24, 2013 at the Eagle's Club #350, 227 10th St. NW, East Grand Forks, MN.
Family Greeting: 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. before the service on Sunday.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to: LifeSource, 2550 University Ave. W., Suite 315 S., St. Paul, MN 55114.
