Inez Hilde Sanders

Inez Hilde Sanders, 94, Grand Forks, ND and formerly of East Grand Forks, MN, died Thursday, February 14, 2013 in 4000 Valley Square – Woodside Village, Grand Forks.

Inez Hjelvik was born to Olaf and Ella (Skare) Hjelvik on May 10, 1918 in Dewey Township, Walsh County, near Fairdale, ND. She attended school in Dewey Township. Inez and Juel Hilde, Sr. were united in marriage on December 7, 1935. They lived on the farm after their marriage and also in Fargo and Grand Forks. She married Art Sanders in June, 1967. Inez moved to East Grand Forks, MN in October, 1998.

Inez Hilde Sanders, 94, Grand Forks, ND and formerly of East Grand Forks, MN, died Thursday, February 14, 2013 in 4000 Valley Square – Woodside Village, Grand Forks.

Inez Hjelvik was born to Olaf and Ella (Skare) Hjelvik on May 10, 1918 in Dewey Township, Walsh County, near Fairdale, ND. She attended school in Dewey Township. Inez and Juel Hilde, Sr. were united in marriage on December 7, 1935. They lived on the farm after their marriage and also in Fargo and Grand Forks. She married Art Sanders in June, 1967. Inez moved to East Grand Forks, MN in October, 1998.

She is survived by her children, Juel (Jan) Hilde, Janice (Bob) McGoven, and Wayne (Melanine) Hilde, all of Grand Forks, Dianne (Darrell) Bratvold, Dale (Diane) Hilde, and Tammy (Del) Shern, all of East Grand Forks, MN, and Eleanor Hendrick, Shelby, NC; 23 grandchildren, and several great and great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by both of her husbands, her parents; brothers, Bertel, Edwin, and Elmer; and infant twin sister; twin daughters, Diane, and Delaine; grandsons, Steven Bratvold, Paul Hilde, Rob Pearson; son-in-law, Philip Hendrick; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services: 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 19, 2013 in Augustana Lutheran Church, 520 University Ave., Grand Forks. Visitation will be for the hour prior to the service in the church. Interment will be in the spring in Vang Cemetery near Fairdale, ND.

Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 S. 42nd St., Grand Forks is in charge of arrangements.

My childhood memories of Inez were that of a kind and dignified lady. I am sure she will be missed by many of those here were acqainted with her over the years. Lee Okeson San Diego, CA
