Darrel E. Shereck
Darrel E. Shereck passed away on February 14th with his wife, Cynthia and sister Karen by his side. He was born January 30, 1957, the son of the late Edward and Dorothy Votava ShereckDarrel was born and raised in Grafton and attended Grafton Central High School, graduating in 1975. He graduated from the University of North Dakota in 1986 with a BBA degree in Business Management. In 1992, he earned the IREM designation of Certified Property Manager (CPM).

Darrel E. Shereck passed away on February 14th with his wife, Cynthia and sister Karen by his side. He was born January 30, 1957, the son of the late Edward and Dorothy Votava Shereck
Darrel was born and raised in Grafton and attended Grafton Central High School, graduating in 1975. He graduated from the University of North Dakota in 1986 with a BBA degree in Business Management. In 1992, he earned the IREM designation of Certified Property Manager (CPM).
He married Cynthia J. Hurd in Grand Forks in 1986. They lived in Portland and Bend, Oregon for over 25 years prior to moving back home to Grand Forks in 2009. In Portland, Darrel was a commercial real estate property manager. Later in Bend, he worked for Cessna Aircraft. At the time of his death, Darrel worked for the Dept. of Homeland Security as a Supervising Transportation Security Officer –a job he truly loved!
He is survived by his wife, Cynthia of Grand Forks; his mother, Dorothy Shereck, brothers Michael (Michelle) Shereck, Doug (Karen) Shereck and Shane Shereck all of Grafton; and sisters Debbie French (Lon Burns) of Grafton and Karen (David) Schultz of Minot plus several beloved nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held Monday, Feb. 18 at 10:30 am at Hope Evangelical Covenant Church. Family and friends are invited to gather one hour prior to the service for prayer and sharing of memories. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Altru Cancer Center or Hope Church.
