Phyllis Sletten, age 81, of Larimore, ND, passed away Thursday, February 7, 2013 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks.Phyllis Lorraine Sletten was born January 15, 1932 at Kennedy, MN, the daughter of Ferdie and Helen (Krogstad) Johnson. She was raised and grew to womanhood at Kennedy. Following her graduation from Kennedy High School, she attended Aakers Business College in Grand Forks. She worked at Implement Dealers Insurance.

Phyllis Sletten, age 81, of Larimore, ND, passed away Thursday, February 7, 2013 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks.
Phyllis Lorraine Sletten was born January 15, 1932 at Kennedy, MN, the daughter of Ferdie and Helen (Krogstad) Johnson. She was raised and grew to womanhood at Kennedy. Following her graduation from Kennedy High School, she attended Aakers Business College in Grand Forks. She worked at Implement Dealers Insurance.
Phyllis married LeRoy Sletten on October 11, 1953 at Kennedy. Following their marriage the couple lived in Grand Forks before moving to Larimore in 1957. For a time she was employed at Larimore Drug. She raised her family in rural Larimore and enjoyed watching sporting events, especially of her sons and grandchildren. Phyllis was an active member of Living Faith Free Lutheran Church in Larimore.
Surviving members of her family include her husband LeRoy; daughter: Janna Sletten, Eden Prairie, MN; sons: Kenneth (Wanita) Sletten, Duluth, MN; Thomas (Hazel) Sletten, Larimore; Dean (Tammy) Sletten, Moorhead, MN; Daniel (Sheri) Sletten, Larimore and Mark (Maren) Sletten, Argusville, ND; 6 grandchildren: James, Adam, Aaron, Jenny, Ryan and Magnus; brother: Earl (Lois) Johnson, Moorhead and sister-in-law: Sue Johnson, Woodbury, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 infants; and brother: Darrell.
In lieu of flowers, MEMORIALS may be designated to the Roger Maris Cancer Center or Living Faith Free Lutheran Church.
FUNERAL SERVICES: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday February 12 at Living Faith Free Lutheran Church in Larimore.
VISITATION: Monday, February 11 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service held in the Bakke Funeral Home of Larimore. Visitation will also be for one hour prior to the funeral on Tuesday at the church.
INTERMENT: Bellevue Cemetery, Larimore.

To the Sletten Family, I am very sorry for your loss. Phyllis was such a sweet, gentle woman who dearly loved her family. She worked so hard, and her faith was so important to her. I loved working for her one summer helping with kids and laundry...we laughed alot! She will be missed--my Mom (Ruth) feels so sad to have lost a wonderful friend.
