Conrad Hapka Sr.

Conrad Hapka Sr., 79, of rural Argyle, MN, passed away on Wednesday morning, February 6, 2013 at the Villa St. Vincent in Crookston, MN.

Conrad Paul Hapka was born on February 7, 1933 on the family farm near Argyle, the son of Jacob and Julia (Staloch) Hapka. He attended country school and the Crookston AC. After his schooling, he returned to the family farm. Conrad was in the US Army from 1957 - 1958 and was stationed in Germany. On October 22, 1958, he married Theresa Perkerewicz at St. Stanislaus Church in Warsaw, ND. They made their home on the Hapka family farm northeast of Argyle where he was a lifelong potato farmer.

He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in rural Argyle until it closed and then joined Assumption Catholic Church in Florian, MN. Conrad was also a member of the Argyle American Legion.

Conrad enjoyed fishing and telling jokes and stories with family and friends. He will always be remembered for his lively sense of humor.

Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Theresa; ten children, Roger (Julie) Hapka of Andover, Brian Hapka of Argyle, Mark (Mimi) Hapka of Andover, Robert (friend Elizabeth) Hapka of East Grand Forks, Jerome “Jerry” Hapka of Argyle, Janelle Hapka of East Grand Forks, Conrad (Kari) Hapka Jr. of Grand Forks, ND, Tim (Terry) Hapka of Moorhead, Mary (Ryan) Johnson of Moorhead and Christopher Hapka of Fargo, ND; twenty-two grandchildren; brother, Adolph (Mary) Hapka of Wildwood, FL; sister, Theresa (Charles) Beck of Lino Lakes and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Leonard.

MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: 10:30 AM on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at Assumption Catholic Church in Florian, MN.

VISITATION: After 5:00 PM with a 6:15 PM Rosary and 6:30 PM Prayer Service on Monday, February 11, 2013 at Assumption Catholic Church in Florian and one hour before services at the church on Tuesday.

INTERMENT: St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, rural Argyle, MN.
