Gerald R. Barendt, a lifelong resident of the Webster, ND area died, Sunday, February 3, 2013 at his home. .

Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Thursday, February 7, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Devils Lake. Visitation at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary and Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m.

Gerald R. Barendt, a lifelong resident of the Webster, ND area died, Sunday, February 3, 2013 at his home. .

Graveside Services will be held at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, rural Webster on Thursday at 12:30 p.m. with Military Honors.

Gerald Ryan, son of Arthur E. and Mary A. (Ryan) Barendt was born on March 5, 1930 at Devils Lake, ND. He was reared and educated at Webster, graduating from Webster High School. He then attended Wahpeton State School of Science, majoring in General Mechanics. Gerald entered the United States Marine Corp in January of 1951 and served in the Korean Conflict. After his honorable discharge, Gerald returned to the Webster area where he would live and farm the rest of his life. Gerald married Virginia Hennessy in October of 1954.

Survivors are his son, David A. Barendt , Grand Forks, ND, daughters. Kathy A. Barendt, Harrah, OK and Susan L. Hach also Grand Forks; ten grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and their families.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Guy L. Barendt and brother, William Barendt.
