Margaret Readel, age 88 of Mountain, ND passed away on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at the Pembina County Memorial Hospital of Cavalier, ND.Margaret Thora Sigrun Gestson was born January 31, 1924 in Eyford, ND to Rosman and Petrina (Johnson) Gestson. She grew up in Mountain, ND and graduated from Mountain High School in 1942. She then attended Business College in Fargo, ND.

Margaret Readel, age 88 of Mountain, ND passed away on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at the Pembina County Memorial Hospital of Cavalier, ND.
Margaret Thora Sigrun Gestson was born January 31, 1924 in Eyford, ND to Rosman and Petrina (Johnson) Gestson. She grew up in Mountain, ND and graduated from Mountain High School in 1942. She then attended Business College in Fargo, ND.
She joined the WAVES and worked in San Diego for the Navy as a bookkeeper during WWII.
She was united in marriage to Robert Readel on December 18, 1946 in San Diego, CA. The couple lived and farmed in the Mountain area. She became Postmaster in Mountain in 1978 and retired in 1998.
She is survived by her children: Ross (Myrna) Readel, Monica Heigaard, and Perry (Linda) Readel, all of Mountain, Roberta (Monty) Heller, Cavalier, and Peter (Pat) Readel of West Fargo, ND, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, and sister-in-law Beth Gestson, Circle Pines, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Elizabeth Craig, brother-in-law Larry Craig, brother Rosman (Harold) Gestson, daughter-in-law Kathlyn Readel, son-in-law Jerome Goodman and son-in-law Denis Heigaard.
Funeral services will be Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 10:30 A.M. at the Vikur Lutheran Church of Mountain. Visitation will be on Friday from 5-7 with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Edinburg. Friends may also call at the church for one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Interment will be at the Mountain Cemetery, Mountain, ND.
