Eloise Johnson, 93, of Oslo, MN, passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Center in Warren, MN.Eloise Martha Eblen was born on November 20, 1919 in Hillsboro, ND. She attended Sacred Heart Academy in Fargo, ND. On November 13, 1939, Eloise married Harold B. “Cotton” Johnson. They made their home in Oslo. She worked at the Grand Forks Air Base and at Home 20 Café. Harold died on November 13, 1981. Eloise moved to Stephen, MN for a short time before moving to the Good Samaritan Center in 2005.

Eloise Johnson, 93, of Oslo, MN, passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Center in Warren, MN.
Eloise Martha Eblen was born on November 20, 1919 in Hillsboro, ND. She attended Sacred Heart Academy in Fargo, ND. On November 13, 1939, Eloise married Harold B. “Cotton” Johnson. They made their home in Oslo. She worked at the Grand Forks Air Base and at Home 20 Café. Harold died on November 13, 1981. Eloise moved to Stephen, MN for a short time before moving to the Good Samaritan Center in 2005.
She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Altar Society, Catholic Daughters, Oslo Jolly Seniors and the Legion Auxiliary.
Eloise enjoyed pinochle, crocheting, reading, cooking, baking caramel rolls and making popcorn balls. She was very proud of being Irish.
Left to mourn her passing are her eleven children; Ron (Sue) Johnson of East Grand Forks, MN, Janet (Larry) Smith of Spotsylvania, VA, Kent (Phyllis) Johnson of Virginia, MN, Raymond (Laurel) Johnson of East Grand Forks, MN, J. Michael Johnson of Fargo, ND, Robert (Sandy) Johnson of East Grand Forks, MN, Mary (Michael) Johnson of Warren, MN, Daniel (Brenda) Johnson of East Grand Forks, MN, Neal (Mae) Johnson of Duluth, MN, Elsa (Brad) Cook of Stephen, MN and Elizabeth (Aaron) Brekke of East Grand Forks, MN; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Regina Ferry of Grand Forks, ND; brother, Donald (Phyllis) Eblen of the Twin Cities and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband and two brothers, Kenneth and Wilbur.
MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: 10:30 AM on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Oslo, MN.
VISITATION: After 5:00 PM with a 6:30 PM prayer service on Monday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Oslo and one hour before services at the church on Tuesday.
INTERMENT: Riverside Cemetery, Oslo, MN
