John was born in Grand Forks, ND to his parents Charles & Zona Shannahan. He served in the Korean War, did two tours in Vietnam & retired at the rank of Major after 23 years of service in the U.S. Marine Corps. He loved flying and had owned multiple planes over the years.
Preceded in death by his son Morris.
Survived by: Wife of 57 years, Colleen
Special friend Robin Miles and all of John's fellow coffee drinking flying buddies and computer bums.
Celebration of John's Life: Monday, January 28, 2013 at 10:00 AM at Braman Mortuary (Southwest Chapel).

My sympathy to you Colleen. I remember when you and John would come to Kay's house for a visit, she loved having you and John over. John was always so nice to me and as little girl I just adored him. Remember all the times Kay would take you and Morris up to edinburg,,it was lots of years ago. I just saw John's obituary and I had to send you my sympathy. God Bless, Colleen.
