Warren D. Johnson Jr.

Warren D. Johnson Jr., 73, passed away on Sunday, January 13, at his home.

Warren was born January 9, 1940 in San Diego, CA to Warren and Elizabeth (Hendrick) Johnson. Warren grew up in Rochester, New York. After high school he attended John Carroll University in Cleveland, OH. He then entered into a 20 year career with the United States Air Force. Upon retirement, Warren began Law School at the University of North Dakota. He was an assistant State’s Attorney for Grand Forks County.

Warren D. Johnson Jr., 73, passed away on Sunday, January 13, at his home.

Warren was born January 9, 1940 in San Diego, CA to Warren and Elizabeth (Hendrick) Johnson. Warren grew up in Rochester, New York. After high school he attended John Carroll University in Cleveland, OH. He then entered into a 20 year career with the United States Air Force. Upon retirement, Warren began Law School at the University of North Dakota. He was an assistant State’s Attorney for Grand Forks County.

He was an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, serving as Lay Director, and teaching Catechism. Warren was an avid motorcycle enthusiast. He was a motorcycle safety instructor and belonged to the Blue Knights International Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club, Inc. Warren also belonged to the Northern Lights Corvette Club of Fargo, and participated in many club trips. He enjoyed athletics, and attending games at UND. He was a lifelong outdoors man, and loved fishing.

Warren is survived by his son David of Beijing, China; his son Sean (Tiffany) of Grand Forks, ND; his grandchildren Jasper and Adeline; and other relatives.

Warren was preceded in death by his parents.

A Memorial Mass will be held Friday, January 18, 2013 at 2:30 p.m. in St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the start of the service.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
