Morris Aaser

Morris Aaser, 97, of McVille, ND, died Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at Nelson County Health System-Hospital in McVille.

Morris was born July 24, 1915 in McVille, ND the son of Ole and Marie (Franson) Aaser. He grew up at the family farm near McVille. He entered into the U.S. Army in April 1941. He was discharged in 1945 and married Alpha Mae Lysne on June 3, 1945. They were married 67½ years. The couple began farming south of McVille in 1946. They lived and farmed there until 1977 at which time they moved to a new home in McVille.

Morris was a member of Sheyenne Lutheran Church, rural Pekin, ND. He was an active member of Ole Semling American Legion Post #135 since 1945. He was a life member.

Morris is survived by his wife Alpha; sons, David (Bonnie), Pekin, ND and Don (Polly), Maple Grove, MN; 4 grandchildren, Karissa (Chad) Benoit, Melissa (Jim) Misialek, Katherine (Glenn) Potter, and Elizabeth Aaser; 5 great grandchildren; brother Martin; sisters-in-law, Dagny Panyan, Dorothy Aaser, Martha Aaser, and MaryAnn Hermanson; and several nieces and nephews.

Morris was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Orvin, Jasper, and Elwood.

Memorial Services for Morris will be Thursday, January 17, 2013 at 2 p.m. in the Sheyenne Lutheran Church, rural Pekin, ND. Visitation will be one hour prior to services in the church. A spring interment will be in the Sheyenne Lutheran Church Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to Nelson County Health System, McVille, ND.

Arrangements are with the Stanley-Iverson Funeral Home, McVille, ND.
