Gordy Jenkins

Gordy Jenkins, 68, of Alvarado, MN, passed away on Wedensday, January 9, 2013 at Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine, MN.

Gordy was born on October 20, 1944 in Grand Forks, ND, the son of Edward and Ardath (Anvinson) Jenkins. He was raised in Oslo where he attended school. On March 16, 1968, he was united in marriage to Corinne Nordlund. They made their home in rural Alvarado. Gordy worked several jobs including working construction, owning and operating Gordy’s Diner and working for the City of Alvarado.

Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Corinne of Alvarado, MN; son, Christopher Jenkins of Alvarado, MN; granddaughters, Karissa and McKenzie; mother-in-law, Sylvia Scott of Grand Forks, ND; sister, Judy (Bill) Rivard of Grand Forks, ND; brother, Randy (Chris Ann) Jenkins of Lake Park, MN and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Elroy.

FUNERAL SERVICE: 10:30 AM on Monday, January 14, 2013 at New Hope Lutheran Church in Alvarado, MN.

VISITATION: One hour before services at the church.

INTERMENT: Elim Lutheran Cemetery, rural Alvarado, MN.
