Marie Theresa Jones, 72, of Grand Forks, ND died Friday January 4, 2013 at home.Marie Jones was born October 12, 1940 in Fargo the daughter Antonin Richard and Irene (Rhealt) Richard. She was raised and educated in Fargo, ND graduating from Shanley High School in 1958 and the Sisters of St. Joseph School of Nursing in 1961.

Marie Theresa Jones, 72, of Grand Forks, ND died Friday January 4, 2013 at home.
Marie Jones was born October 12, 1940 in Fargo the daughter Antonin Richard and Irene (Rhealt) Richard. She was raised and educated in Fargo, ND graduating from Shanley High School in 1958 and the Sisters of St. Joseph School of Nursing in 1961.
Marie married Dennis Jones on June 23, 1962 in Fargo. She worked as a Registered Nurse in Fargo until she moved to Grand Forks in 1977 where she resumed nursing at United/Altru Hospital from ’77 till her retirement in 2002. In post-retirement she worked at Home Helpers from 2006 until her death.
Marie enjoyed gardening, crafts, and classical music. She also was close with her walking group, going with them on trips and out to dinner often. She was an active member of Holy Family Catholic Church and devoted much of her time in the service of others and God.
Marie is survived by her Daughter: Angela Jones, Grand Forks; Sons: Patrick, Minneapolis; Gregory, St. Paul; and Christopher, Grand Forks; Granddaughter: Emily Jones, Grand Forks; Great-grandson: Sage Jones; Sisters: Yvonne Lies, Fargo; and Dee Barker, Boise, ID.
She was preceded in death by her Parents, her Sister Cindy Novak, and her Husband Dennis.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, January 12, 2012 at 12:30 p.m. in Holy Family Catholic Church.
Visitation will be Friday, January 11, 2013 from 5 - 7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. in Amundson Funeral Home and continuing 1 hour prior to the start of the funeral service at the church.
