Warren O. Samuelson

Warren O. Samuelson, age 89 of Adams, ND, passed away on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Altru Hospital of Grand Forks.

Warren O. Samuelson was born August 11, 1923 in Warren, MN, the son of the late Arvid and Edith (Westberg) Samuelson. He grew up and attended schools in the Adams area before attending NDSSS in Wahpeton for two years. Following his education, he returned to the Adams area and began farming. He was united in marriage to Marcella Knutson on October 31, 1945 in Adams, ND. The couple made their home on the farm near Adams. In 1970, he began working at the MSR Missile Site in Nekoma, ND. He worked there until 1976. He continued to live on the farm until moving into the Edmore Rest Home in December of 2011. In March of 2012 he moved into the Good Samaritan Center in Park River.

He was a member of the Gustavus-Adolphus Lutheran Church of Rural Adams. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, ice fishing, going to horse shows, gardening , watching sports and old westerns, and reading.

He is survived by his children: Dianne (Doug) Reynolds, Adams, ND, Kathy (Daniel) Eggl, Egeland, ND, Jerry (Geraldean) Samuelson, Adams, ND, 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Marcella, twin sons Michael and Mark, brother Willard, sister Verna Grieve, and son-in-law Roger Ellingson.

Funeral services will be Monday, January 7, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the Adams Mountain Lutheran Church of Adams. Visitation will be Sunday from 5-7 with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Park River. Friends may also call at the church for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Gustavus-Adolphus Lutheran Cemetery of Rural Adams.

One of the ' good guys' in the memories of my youth - always friendly and cheerful. Often seen at the Swedish Church and around Lankin. I am sure he will be missed by many. Lee Okeson, San Diego, CA
