Ruby E. McAllister

Ruby E. (Snedigar) McAllister, 95, Fargo passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at the Palliative Care Unit of Sanford Health, Fargo.

Ruby was born March 5, 1917 in DeSmet, South Dakota to Arthur and Florence (Mullen) Snedigar. She graduated from Huron High School in 1933. She attended Huron College before marrying J.L. McAllister on January 24, 1939. The couple moved to Valley City, North Dakota in 1939 where Ruby worked as a bookkeeper at the lumber yard. They lived in Walhalla, North Dakota and Langdon, North Dakota where her husband managed the Penny’s Stores. She moved to Fargo in January 2009 and resided there until her death.

Ruby is survived by her children; Connie (Don) Kilene, West Fargo, ND, Carol (Martin) Ness, Fargo, North Dakota, 5 grandchildren; John Kilene, Fargo, North Dakota, Jason Kilene, Minneapolis, Minnesota, Gene (Yamila) Kilene, Westminster, Colorado, Kate Ness, Minneapolis, Minnesota, Adam Ness, Fargo, North Dakota.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, J.L., seven siblings, Louis, Madeline, Florence, Bud, Bessie, Amy and Helen.

There will be a Funeral Mass on Monday, January 7 at 11:00 A.M. at Riverview Place Chapel, Fargo with visitation starting at 10:00 A.M.
