Theresa Barbara Gerszewski was born October 2, 1922 in rural Ardoch, Levant Township, North Dakota. She was the daughter of Jacob and Lillian (Narloch) Gerszewski. Theresa married Peter Kazmierczak on November 21, 1945 in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Warsaw, ND. They built a new home on her parents' homestead in 1956 and began their lifelong career of farming. After Peter’s death in a farming accident on August 27, 1973, Theresa continued farming for a few years, until retiring. She moved to Tufte Manor in Grand Forks in August, 2010.
Theresa was always interested in learning. She took continuing education courses, continued studies in clerical skills and was employed at the Grand Forks Air Base for three years.
Theresa more than enjoyed gardening, it was her passion. She shared the produce and canned the extra. When cold winter days kept Theresa indoors, she had many creative hobbies, including raising house plants, crocheting, drawing, self-teaching guitar, but enjoyed quilting the most. Theresa adored and spoiled her pets and would take in any strays to keep them fed and safe from “old man winter”.
She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church and Altar Society, Catholic Daughters of America, Oslo American Legion Auxiliary, East Grand Forks V.F.W. Auxiliary and Grafton Prairie Rose Craft & Food Shop. She provided many years of service helping wherever needed, particularly church dinners and special events.
She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.

Thank you Theresa. Say hello to Marvin. I thought those maple floors (in the new house) were just super. I (and Marvin) appreciated the trip to Bemidji and the job (for pin money) disassembling your father & mothers house for the lumber. You and Peter were our (Rosemary, Marvin & myself) Confirmation sponsors at St. Patrick's in Minto in about 1956, You will be remembered in our Prayers. Thomas J.
