Viola Mummert
Viola Mummert, 91, Grand Forks, died December 16, 2012 in Altru Hospital.Viola was born May 2, 1921 in McClusky, ND the daughter of Earl and Betty (Schindler) Bennett. She grew up and attended school in McClusky graduating from McClusky High School. She then went on to attend Business College in Phoenix, Arizona. She then moved back to North Dakota where she spent her time working as a legal secretary in Bismarck, and Minot.

Viola was born May 2, 1921 in McClusky, ND the daughter of Earl and Betty (Schindler) Bennett. She grew up and attended school in McClusky graduating from McClusky High School. She then went on to attend Business College in Phoenix, Arizona. She then moved back to North Dakota where she spent her time working as a legal secretary in Bismarck, and Minot.
On November 17, 1941, Viola married Claude Mummert in Reno, Nevada. They owned and operated several grocery stores in Towner, Washburn, and Underwood. They also owned and operated a western store in Towner. Claude passed away on June 22, 1992.
Viola enjoyed spending time with her family. She liked to travel, going South during the colder months, even after Claude had passed away, and going to the ocean.
Viola is survived by her daughters, Lynn (Jeremy) Pachl, Thompson, ND, Valarie (Sam) Hamlin, Sequim, WA, and her granddaughter Samantha Hamlin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and her brother Earl.
As per Viola’s request, no formal services will be held.
