Lester Lloyd Juhl

Lester Lloyd Juhl, age 93, passed away Dec 6th, 2012, at Kittson Memorial Healthcare Center, Hallock, MN. Lester was born May 13th, 1919, at home in rural Bowesmont, ND 4th son of nine children, to Henry and Christina (Berthelsen) Juhl. Lester attended the Mugford country school and graduated 8th grade from Fleece Country school, Bowesmont, ND. Lester attended Sheyenne River Academy, in Harvey, ND.

Lester married Hilda Hansen, September 16th, 1941. They made their home in rural Bowesmont, where nine children were born to them. He farmed in Bowesmont, ND and Lake Bronson, MN areas until 1967. They moved to Lincoln, NE and bought a semi and started trucking. He hauled grain to Duluth and ran a reefer van and hauled produce to and from Florida. Driving over 6 million miles until his retirement in 1998. They moved to rural East Grand Forks in 1980. Lester lived at home until Hilda passed away in 2009, and he went to live with his daughter Larelda. Lester made Kittson Memorial Healthcare Center his home for the past year and a half in Hallock, MN.

Even though Lester cut off three fingers on a saw, he was not handicapped in anyway. Lester was a hard worker and didn’t like to be idle, except for going fishing, which he dearly loved. Lester enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Lester was an active member of the Grand Forks Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Lester was the father of, Leland & (Miriam) Juhl, Lake Bronson, MN, Larry deceased & (Grace) Juhl, Pocartello , ID, Richard deceased & (Nyla) Juhl Imler, Amity, AR, Lyndon & (Pam) Juhl, Drayton, ND, Larelda & (Dave) Gingras, Ronan, MT, Quentin & (Tari) Juhl, Milton-Freewater, OR, Ted & (Angela) Juhl, Drayton, ND, Lavonne Juhl, Moscow, ID, Kandi &(Tim) O’Toole, Grand Forks, ND, 10 grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Lester ‘s surviving siblings, Ralph & (Betty) Juhl, Drayton, ND, Gladys & (Hagen) Biloff, Milton- Freewater, OR, Wayne &(Lindell) Juhl, Greenbush, MN, Ray & (Helen) Juhl, Middle River, MN,

Lester was preceded in death by two sons, Richard and Larry Juhl, granddaughter Heather Juhl and grandson Jason Juhl, his parents and brothers, Vernon, Melvin, Kenneth, Howard Juhl. Lester loved the Lord and went to sleep believing in the promise of the soon coming of Jesus and the Resurrection when he will be reunited with family and friends.

Visitation: 1 Hour before Memorial Service in Seventh Day Adventist Church on Friday.

Memorial Service: 1:00 PM on Friday ~ December 21, 2012 in Seventh Day Adventist Church, 3610 Cherry St., Grand Forks, ND.

Burial: Bowesmont Cemetery, Bowesmont, ND at a later date.
