Katheryn Barry, age 55, passed away at her home in Grand Forks, ND, Friday, December 14, 2012.
Kathy was a gypsy at heart and her dreams of world travel lead her to join the military, where she proudly served her country in the US Navy for 7 years. She was stationed in many different locations.
In her early adulthood she was married and from that union came 2 daughters: Fayme (Glen) Henry and Mia (Matt) Hunsberger. She was able to take them along on these journeys.
After being honorably discharged, she worked for the D.O.T. in Bismarck, ND, before making her home in Larimore and meeting the love of her life Brent Barry, and his son Mike, completed her family.
After all of the children finally moved out of the house, Kathy and Brent were able to enjoy each other’s company while living in many different places, including overseas. Throughout their marriage they were able to enjoy travel where they found a special place in Florida that they both loved.
She bravely fought her final journey, which was one that she never expected.
Preceded in death by her grandparents on both sides and her sister Kyanne Olson.
Survived by her husband: Brent Barry; her parents: Arnie and Yvonne Olson; her sisters: Keri (Dan) Edwards, Kristi (Larry) Moe; her children: Fayme (Glen) Henry, Mia (Matt) Hunsberger and Mike Barry; her grandchildren: Kyanne and Nova Stringer, Kamdon Henry, Morgan and Nate Hunsberger and many nieces and nephews.
