David S. Houser, age 62 of Park River, ND, passed away Thursday, December 6, 2012 at his home in Park River.

David S. Houser, age 62 of Park River, ND, passed away Thursday, December 6, 2012 at his home in Park River.

David Samuel Houser was born January 5, 1950 in Grafton, ND, the son of Bernice (Edwards) Houser and the late Augustine "Sam" Houser. He graduated from the Walsh County Agricultural School. David was united in marriage to Nancy Penas on January 18, 1967. David farmed his whole life. He spent time as a manager at Robertson's Lumber, worked for Bob Brandt Construction and drove truck for Gene Larson and sons.

He was a member of the Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Park River and was a past member of the Park River Fire Department and served a term as chief.

David is survived by his mother Bernice (Edwards) Houser, Park River, ND; children: Shelley (Steve) Heigaard, Park River, ND; Darren (Karen) Houser, Park River, ND; grandchildren: Nathan (Ashley Blasky) Heigaard, Fordville, ND; Brady (Johanna) Heigaard, Fargo, ND; Cass Heigaard, Minneapolis, MN; great grandchildren: Cambria Heigaard, Fargo, ND; Easton Heigaard, Fordville, ND; sisters: Ruby (Dennis) Nimrick, New Windsor, IL; Lorraine (Allan) Burger, Grand Forks, ND; Special Friend, Shirley Peterka, Park River, ND. Several nieces and nephews also survived. He was preceded in death by his wife Nancy, infant son David Scott; father Augustine "Sam" and brothers: Marvin and Robert.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at 10:30 A.M. at the Our Saviour's Lutheran Church of Park River. Visitation will be Monday from 5-7 PM with at Prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Our Saviour's Lutheran Church of Park River. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Memorial Park Cemetery.
