Mary Ann Schweder, 84, of Bemidji, died on Thursday, December 6, 2012 at Sanford Bemidji Medical Center.
Mary Ann Gregoire was born October 13, 1928 in Grand Forks, ND to Tankard & Ella (Olson) Gregoire. She grew up on a farm in Thompson, ND and graduated from Thompson High School. She raised her family in Bemidji and worked at the Lake Julia Sanatorium and Beltrami Nursing Home. On January 25, 1973 she married Bill Schweder in Bemidji. Mary retired in 1993. She was very active in St. Philip’s Catholic Church where she would attend Mass daily. She enjoyed crocheting, fishing, and spending time with her family. Mary Ann was a remarkable mother; so very patient, loving, strong and vibrant. She always enjoyed joking around and having a positive attitude and a smile on her face.
She is survived by her husband Bill, Bemidji; daughters, Marion (Gary) Spencer, Vancouver, WA, Paulette (Bob) Bischoff, Normandy Park, WA, Kathryn (Lee) Tucker, Greenville, SC and Patricia Kuzel, Bemidji; sons, Larry (Gail) Kuzel, St. Cloud, MN, Gerard (Chris) Kuzel, Guthrie, MN and Terry Kuzel, Bemidji; numerous grandchildren & great grandchildren; sister, Margaret Knutsen, Elk River, MN and brother, Bill Gregoire in AZ.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 3 sisters and 1 infant child.
Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 am, Monday, December 10, 2012 at St. Philip’s Catholic Church, Bemidji, with the Fr. Don Braukmann officiating.
Visitation will be 4:00 – 7:00 pm with a Rosary at 7:00 pm, Sunday, December 9, 2012 at Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home, Bemidji, MN and visitation also one hour prior to the service at church.
Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery, Bemidji.
Memorials preferred to St. Philip’s Catholic Church.
