Sophine M. Adams, 88, of Reynolds, ND died Friday, November 30, 2012 in Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND.

Sophine Mary Rakocxy was born September 8, 1924, the daughter of Anthony and Mary (Christopher) Rakoczy near Reynolds, ND. After graduating from high school, she attended Mayville State Teachers College, Mayville, ND. Sophine graduated from the University of North Dakota in 1966 with a Masters in Education. Her teaching career spanned 35 years starting in a one room school house. She touched many lives through her teaching career until her retirement in 1980. She was married to the late Virgil Bohm in June 1954. They had 3 children. Virgil preceded her in death in December 1974. Sophine was united in marriage to Eugene Adams on April 11, 1980. Eugene and Sophine enjoyed dancing, going to the lake, traveling and following all their grandchildren’s activities.

She is survived by her husband, Eugene; children, Jane (Jack) King, Centrailia, WA, Joan Bohm, Grand Forks, ND, Rick (Lisa) Bohm, Grand Forks, ND; step-children, Ron (Kathleen) Adams, Grand Forks, ND, Anne (Dan) Carr, Linton, ND, Carol (Randy) Thompson, Thompson, ND, Amy (Gene) Fisher, Fergus Falls, MN; grandchildren, Ben (Jill) King, Nate King, Kelsey Bohm, Kendra Bohm, Nick Adams, Liza (Mike) McLean, Maxi Adams, David (Leslie) Sondreal, Daniel Sondreal, Katie Carr, Lacey (Lance) Jangula, Kyle Carr, Megan Carr, Adam Thompson, Kara Fisher, Jake Fisher, Abby Fisher; great-grandchildren, Briar King, Piper, Paris and Deacon Sondreal, Carter Renz, Easton Jangula; siblings, John (Dorothy) Rakoczy, Lottie (Mrs. Vincent) Breidenbach; a sister-in-law, Mary (Mrs. Walter) Rakoczy and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and first husband, Virgil; brothers, Joe and Walter Rakoczy, a sister, Anna Szymanski and an infant sister; brother-in-law, Vincent Breidenbach.

Mass of Christian Burial: 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 4, 2012 in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Reynolds, ND

Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Monday with a 6:45 p.m. rosary service and 7:00 p.m. vigil service in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the liturgy in the church on Tuesday.

Burial: Calvary Cemetery, Reynolds, ND.

So sorry to hear of Sophines passing. Definitely one the most influencial teachers I had at Thompson Public School. My condolences to Rick and the girls as well as the extended family... Scott and Jane(Bohlman) Morgan
