Renata H. Shelton, 90 of Vancouver WA, and most recently a resident of the Borg Memorial Home in Mountain, ND passed away on Thursday, November 22, 2012 at Valley Memorial Home in Grand Forks, ND.
Renata H. Werner was born January, 9, 1922 to Robert and Wanda (Kroll) Werner in Bathgate, ND. She was raised and educated there and baptized and confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church in Neche, ND. The family moved to Oregon in 1947 and Renata became a beautician. She owned and operated her own Beauty Salon for over 20 years. Renata was united in marriage to Milton Shelton on June 16, 1968 in Gladstone, OR. The couple lived in Milwaukee, OR for several years before purchasing a home in Vancouver, WA.
She is survived by her sisters: Dorothy Pfenning, Jacksonville, OR; Helen McMartin, Oregon City, OR; Marlene Anderson, Laconner, WA; sister-in-law; Ruth Werner, Sioux Falls, SD; brothers: Lloyd Werner, Milwaukee, OR; Ervin (Carol) Werner, Woodland, CA; nieces and nephews: Catherine (Gary) Paulson and their family: Jeanette (Ron) Gemmill, Amber, Chloe, Chris and Julie Byron, all of Edinburg, ND; David (Gail) Peil, Drayton, ND; David, Scot and Angie Peil and family, St. Cloud, MN; Ruth (Kermit) Rollefstad and family, Ron (Gwen) Werner and family of Cavalier, ND; Connie (Gary) Campbell & family, Olympia, WA; Edith (Richard) Bonnett and family, Calgary Alberta, Canada, Karin (Gary) Hartje and families, Barb (Dick) Funkie and families, Sioux Falls, SD; Dale Pfenning, Michael (Lenny) Pfenning, Beverly (Mike) Gornick, Donna McMartin, Duane (Sandy) McMartin, Bob (Meijuan) Anderson, Elizabeth Anderson all of Oregon.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Milton, sister: Ruby Peil, brothers: Arthur, Allen, Helmut and Edward Werner, brother-in-law; Alex Peil, sister-in-law; Alvina (Ed) Werner, brother-in-law; LeRoy Anderson and nephew Donald Anderson.
Funeral services will be Monday, November 26, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Zion English Lutheran Church, Grafton, ND.
Visitation will be Monday for one hour prior to the service at the church.
Interment will be at Willamette National Cemetery, Portland, OR on December 10th.
