Joyce Y. Hoffman, 77, of Grand Forks, ND died Wednesday, November 14, 2012 in Valley Eldercare Center, Grand Forks.
Joyce Yvonne Klein was born on June 14, 1935 in New England, ND the daughter of Edward and Clara (Johnson) Klein. She grew up and attended school in Mott, ND. She then attended Dickinson Teachers College and earned a Teachers Certificate. She married Reinhart “Reyne” Hoffman on June 22, 1955 in Mott, ND. They moved to Grand Forks in 1957 and Joyce worked as a school teacher and as a bookkeeper for KMART in Grand Forks until retiring.
Joyce enjoyed making ceramics, art work and being a part of Calvary Lutheran Church’s Altar Guild.
She is survived by:
Husband: Reyne Hoffman – Grand Forks.
Sons: Marty (Gretchen) Hoffman – Grand Prairie, TX, Tim (Susan) Hoffman – Keller, TX and Brian (Bethany) Hoffman – St. Joseph, MI.
Daughter: Stacey Hoffman – Eagan, MN.
Sister: Darlene (Joseph) Frieze – Bismarck, ND.
Grandchildren: Michelle, Chelsea, Kiersten, TJ, Cullen, Jessica, Summer and Kane.
Great Grandchild: Joshua.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Donald and Jerry Klein.
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Funeral services will be Monday, November 19, 2012 at 10:30 AM in Calvary Lutheran Church, 1405 South 9th St., Grand Forks.
Visitation will be Sunday from 5 to 7 PM with a 7 PM prayer service in Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 South 42nd St., Grand Forks, ND.
Interment will be in Memorial Park South Cemetery, Grand Forks.
