Clarice L. Olson, 90, of Viking, MN died Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at Oakland Park Communities, Thief River Falls, MN.

Clarice Lenore Hansen was born June 5, 1922 at Viking, MN, the daughter of Lonnie and Emma (Bjornrud) Hansen. She attended rural school and graduated from Newfolden High School in 1939.

On October 20, 1940, Clarice was united in marriage to Roy William Olson. The couple lived near Thief River Falls for one year before moving back to the family farm in Viking Township. They farmed until retirement in 1980. In 1985, Roy passed away. In 1992 she sold the homestead and moved into Thief River Falls where she has since resided. Clarice continued to spend winters in Arizona.

She loved to read and was the happiest when traveling. She also loved cats, and had a large collection of cat figurines.

She is survived by children: Constance Donaldson, Rochester, NY and Karolyn Nelson, Lakeville, MN; grandchildren: Judy (partner Kevin Volo) Wolf, Clinton, NY, Andrea (Jeff) Macaluso, Berwyn, PA and Theresa Kemnitz, Morgan, MN; great grandchildren: Charles Macaluso, Olivia Macaluso, Jennifer Kemnitz and Max Volo; several nieces and nephews.

Clarice is preceded in death by her husband; parents; infant sister: Lenore; brothers: Lloyd and Ansel Hansen; grandson-in-law: Ken Kemnitz; son-in-law: Marvin Nelson and their cat, Ole.

Funeral service will be 11 AM, Saturday, November 10, 2012 at Zion Lutheran Church, Viking, MN.

Burial will be at Viking Cemetery, Viking, MN.

Visitation will be 5 – 8 PM, Friday, November 9, 2012 at Johnson Funeral Service, Thief River Falls, MN and for one hour prior to the service at the church, Saturday.
