Dwaine “Dewey”: Lembke, 70 of Grand Forks, ND passed away Saturday, November 3, 2012 at his home in Grand Forks after a brief battle with cancer under the care of Hospice and his loving family.
Dwaine Leonard Lembke was born August 3, 1942 on the family farm near Bowesmont, ND the son of Leonard and Blanche (Seeba) Lembke. He was raised in Bowesmont and attended Nowesta rural school. He attended Drayton High School and graduated from Grand Forks Central High School in 1960. He was employed with the Boeing Corporation in Grand Forks and Transport Inc. Later, he was employed with Lafarge Dakota Incorporated until his retirement. Dwaine married Hope Fontaine on November 21, 1963 in Crookston, MN. Following their marriage, they resided in Grand Forks raising their family. He enjoyed fishing, playing Bingo, having coffee with his friends and driving his Amphicar. He was always willing to help others and worked very hard to make a living to support his family.
He is survived by his wife, Hope; sons, Jody (Noelle) Lembke, Grand Forks, ND, Jamie Lembke, Devils Lake, ND and Benjamin Lembke, Grand Forks, ND; daughters, June (Terry) Tucker, East Grand Forks, MN, Juliann Orwick, Arnegard, ND, Jenny Lembke and Jill Lembke, both of Grand Forks, ND; brothers, William (Wanda) Lembke, and Raymond (Joan) Lembke, all of Grand Forks, ND; sister-in-law, Ellen McCarthy, Bismarck, ND; 15 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and his beloved dog, Enzo.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Melvin Lembke.
Memorial Service: 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 8, 2012 in the Gregory J. Norman Funeral Chapel.
Family Greeting: One hour prior to the service in the funeral chapel on Thursday.
Interment: At a later date.
