Sanfred B. Johnson, 84, of Grand Forks, ND died Thursday, November 1, 2012 in Altru Hospital, Grand Forks.

Sanfred B. Johnson was born March 17, 1928 in Mekinock, ND the son of Thelmer and Minnie (Nelson) Johnson. He grew up and attended school in Mekinock and in Grand Forks. Sanfred served in the US Navy during WWII until being honorably discharged. Sanfred and Jeanette Hendrickson were united in marriage in Grand Forks where they made their home. He worked for the city of Grand Forks in the waste water department for over forty years before retiring.

Sisters: Marvel (John) Jensen – Grand Forks

Marilyn Lunde – Grand Forks

Joyce Aaker – East Grand Forks

Brothers: Stanley (Fran) Johnson – Lancaster

Dale (Karen) Johnson – Buxton

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jeanette; brothers, Dennis, Roland and a sister Lois Anderson.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012 at 11:00 AM in Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 South 42nd St., Grand Forks.

Visitation will be for one hour before the service in the funeral home.

Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery South, Grand Forks.
