Lowell E. Jacobson
Lowell E. Jacobson, 81, of Karlstad, Minnesota and formerly of Lake Bronson, passed away at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, North Dakota early Thursday morning, October 18, 2012.
Lowell was born November 20, 1930 on the family farm in Norway Township east of Halma to Nordy and Maude (Flint) Jacobson. Lowell attended country school and served with the U.S. Army in Korea until 1954. On March 12, 1954 he married Helen Bengtson at Zion Lutheran Church in Lake Bronson. Lowell worked as a logger for several years before starting at Lake Bronson Creamery. In 1966 he and Helen moved to East Grand Forks. Lowell was employed at Minnesota Dairy in Grand Forks until 1970 when they returned to Lake Bronson. Lowell worked at Western Potato and several area farms before taking a job at Marvin Windows. After retiring he delivered meals to the senior centers in Kittson County. Lowell was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and the Halma-Lake Bronson American Legion.
Family members include his son, Roger (Dalene) Jacobson, Karlstad; a granddaughter, Breana (Nathan) Berberich, Thompson, ND; great grandchildren, Reece and Carly Berberich; two brothers, Elwood (Vivian) Jacobson, Karlstad and Steve (Jean) Jacobson, Bismarck, ND; a sister, Shirley Bronson, Karlstad and a sister-in-law, Violet Swanson, Karlstad; as well as nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Helen; a grandson, Derek; and a brother, Winfred.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, October 20, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in Zion Lutheran Church at Lake Bronson.
Visitation will be held at the church for one hour prior to the funeral service.
Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Lake Bronson.
