Allen A. Anderson, age 80 of Park River, ND passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at the Valley Eldercare Center, Grand Forks, ND.
Allen A. Anderson was born June 17, 1932 in Lankin, ND, the son of the late Hjalmer and Myrtle (Christianson) Anderson. He graduated from Lankin High School. After his graduation he helped on the Anderson Farm. Allen was united in marriage to Joanne Ferguson September 13, 1953 in Lankin, ND. The couple lived and farmed near Lankin until 1972. In 1976 the couple moved to Park River. He worked at the Grafton Developmental Center in Grafton, Simonson Gas Station and Friendship Inc. until his retirement in 2002.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching sports, especially the Minnesota Vikings, Twins and Fighting Sioux Hockey.
Allen is survived by wife Joanne Anderson, Park River, ND; daughters: Diane (Jerome) Aune, Zap, ND, Debra Anderson, Montrose, CO, Donna (Randy) Flaten, Grand Forks, ND, Cheryl Anderson, Plymouth, MN and Beverly (Russell) Saggerson, East Bethel, MN; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; sisters: Lorraine Zahradka, St. Paul, MN, Beverly Calgaro, San Diego, CA and Marlene Prazak, Lindstrom, MN. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son Timothy and infant brother Marvin.
Memorial services will be Monday, October 1, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at the Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church of Park River.
Visitation will be Sunday from 5-7 P.M. with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Park River. Friends may also call at the church on Monday for one hour prior to the service.
Memorials are preferred to Our Saviour’s Maintenance Fund
The family would like to thank all the staff at the Good Samaritan Center, Valley Eldercare Center and the Altru Hospice for their excellent care.
